Situated on a hill in the heart of South Tyrol, North of Italy, this Renaissance castle is only 10 miles from the regional capital of Bozen and the renowned spa town of Meran.
First mentioned in 1244, the building was alternatively owned by more than one noble families. In the late 1300s a unique vineyard was annexed to the already large estate, soon becoming the real appealing feature among the aristocracy of the times.
In the following centuries the original structure was enlarged, re-shaped and a number of trapdoors were added. This earned the building a brand new splendor, up to the highest magnificence it reached between the 16th and 17th centuries.
Decor:
The general atmosphere hasn't in the least lost its impressive appeal: the rich green scenery that surrounds the castle opens before your eyes right after you have crossed the entrance stone bridge, along which a line of torches light the steps of the approaching guests, thus marking the evanescent border between past and present.
Inside, in the wide halls and salons are warmed by typical wood-burning stoves, period chandeliers and drapes, original curtains and carpets, antique furniture and paintings, all embellish the ambiance and maintain that unequalled touch of elegance.

The building can provide service for 200 people. Reservations grant stays until dawn.
Exclusive candlelight dinners are often requested in order to mark the delicate intimacy of romantic evenings.
Dancing events can count on music and loud speakers set on the ground floor, while microphones are available in each room.
